Infrared Temperature Sensor Optris CTlaser F2/F6 for Temperature Measurement of CO Flame Gas
The Optris CTlaser F2 and F6 models of infrared thermometers are specifically designed for the temperature measurement of CO2 and CO flames. Operating in a carefully selected part of the infrared spectrum allows the sensor to measure the temperature reliably. The Optris temperature sensor boasts an impressive optical resolution of 45:1, ensuring accurate readings even from a distance. Its system accuracy of ±1% at Tamb= 23 ± 5°C and excellent repeatability of ±0.5% or ±0.5°C at Tamb = 23 ± 5°C guarantee reliable and consistent results.
Featuring a temperature resolution of 0.1 K and a rapid exposure time of 10 ms, the CTlaser F2/F6 provides swift and precise measurements. The adjustable emissivity and transmissivity/gain settings, programmable via keys or software, allow for customisation to suit specific requirements.
The thermometer for flame sensor management offers versatile signal processing options, including peak hold, valley hold, average, and extended hold functions with threshold and hysteresis. This ensures flexibility in capturing and analysing temperature data.
Built to withstand challenging environments, the CTlaser sensor is rated IP65 (NEMA-4) for protection against dust and water. Its robust design allows for reliable operation in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 85°C (sensing head) and -20°C to 85°C (electronics).
With various output options such as analogue (0/4 – 20 mA, 0 – 5/10 V, thermocouple J, K), alarm (24 V / 50 mA), and digital interfaces (USB, RS232, RS485, Modbus RTU, Profibus DP, Ethernet), the CTlaser F6 provides seamless integration into existing systems.
This infrared thermometer comes with programmable functional inputs for external emissivity adjustment, ambient temperature compensation, and trigger functions. It also offers different cable lengths, including 3 m (standard), 8 m, and 15 m, for convenient installation.
Powered by 8-36 V DC and featuring a low current draw of max. 160 mA, the CTlaser F6 is energy-efficient and can be controlled via an electronic box or software. Additionally, the built-in 635 nm laser with ON/OFF functionality provides easy targeting and alignment.

Additional Information & Software
The Optris CTlaser F2/F6 dual laser sensors offer a greater degree of flexibility in available options. The electronics are housed in a remote enclosure with a selection of output and digital interface options.
The electronic box also includes its own digital LCD display showing temperature and alarm conditions. All configuration options are set via the front panel removing the need to use a PC to configure the pyrometer. Shorter wavelength versions are also available specifically designed for use with metals, glass and plastic films. All Optris CTlaser pyrometers come with a choice of optics to best suit your requirement.
The industrial infrared temperature sensors can be used with an optional USB interface and license-free Compact Connect software to configure the sensor by PC and record temperature measurements instead of traditional analogue or thermocouple outputs. The infrared temperature sensor and pyrometers from Optris can now also be easily operated from a smartphone using the IRmobile App for Android.
